Blue Sky Black Death are a production team from Seattle who have found a unique style combining heavy bass with raw samples and electronic music. They have collaborated with some of the best MCs in the underground, including Hieroglyphics crew and Wu-Tang affiliates. On this album the duo is fronted by female vocalist Yes Alexander, a newcomer in the Portland indie scene. There is an ambient feel to the album, creating landscape sounds with drum claps reminiscent of their previous release, Late Night Cinema. The difference is the amazing ability of Yes Alexander to use her incredible range to create emotion in the songs.
